About The Game

Trailmakers Downtown Drive is a big city expansion for the vehicle building sandbox Trailmakers, developed by the studio Flashbulb. The add on trades open wilderness for that big city life, packing a huge map with a downtown skyline, airports, harbors, scenic country side roads and suburbs into one playground. The content drop is generous: eighteen new template vehicles such as drift cars, police cruisers, buses and motorcycles, six car light blocks, five motorcycle aesthetic blocks, two skins for the Dragon Engine, a skirt outfit and fresh rounded skins for pistons and small suspension parts. The base game became famous for letting players assemble machines from blocks and drive them anywhere, and this expansion finally gives those machines a metropolis worthy of their engines. The expansion releases in September 2026 and marks the biggest change of scenery the sandbox has seen so far.

The gameplay keeps the formula of build, drive and survive the physics, but moves it into dense urban space. Cruising downtown with the sun peeping between skyscrapers, taking a scenic mountain drive overlooking the skyline, drifting around containers at the industrial harbor, taking off and landing at the airports, every corner of the map suggests its own style of fun. Template vehicles offer a quick start, so the player can jump into a drift car, a bus or a motorcycle without assembling anything from scratch, then study how it works and build a personal version block by block. New light blocks turn night runs into a separate discipline, aesthetic blocks and outfits add character to two wheeled builds, and the familiar sandbox freedom means traffic rules here are only a suggestion. For builders who have explored every canyon of the base game, the city is a fresh vertical maze of ramps, alleys and rooftops where stunts feel bigger and crashes look more spectacular. Every new block and skin feeds the workshop of ideas, because a machine built for harbor drifting behaves nothing like one built for airport runways.
