About The Game

The pool bar is always open in Ultrapool, a colorful roguelike from developer Icedrop Games, published by offbrand games. The idea is simple: sink balls into pockets, score points, and survive the night. The twist is that every ball on the table carries a strange effect, and your job is to turn those effects into the craziest trickshots possible.

The game plays like a billiards take on modern scoring roguelikes. Pocketing balls gives you score, and extra score gives you money to spend at the bar. There you can buy new balls and improve the set you already own. Each run asks you to assemble a triangle of balls with complementary abilities and craft a build that keeps growing stronger.

The roster of balls is where the fun lives. A ghost ball reappears on the table after being pocketed. A chicken ball lays spherical eggs. A bomb explodes if you bump it too much, and one of the options is the Earth itself. Anything is possible as long as it is round and rolls nicely.

The bartenders are not easy to impress. You need to survive 10 rounds, and the challenges keep climbing. Once you feel comfortable with the basics, the cocktail bar opens. Ask the bartender to mix any two balls, and he will serve you something special. Some of these mixes look like they should break the game wide open, and you will need every edge for an all nighter.

The pool mechanics stay easy to pick up throughout the session. You just get the balls in the holes, then let the abilities do the rest. Discovering a new wacky effect opens fresh ideas for pushing your score higher. Short runs and constant surprises make it a game that is easy to start and hard to put down.
