About The Game

[HERROR] Gas Station Case is a detective Horror and Simulation game developed and published by [HERROR]. The player takes the role of Dan Cooper, a twenty five year old night shift worker at a gas station in Ohio. The job keeps the routine simple: refuel cars, serve customers and keep the station running until morning.

The story starts when a friend finds a mysterious case by the lake. Soon after, people begin to vanish in the surrounding woods, and the cozy gas station slowly turns into a trap. The gameplay follows a first person narrative structure with exploration, work and dialogue mechanics, inspired by the same school as Fears to Fathom and Chilla's Art.

The working day matters as much as the mystery. Customers appear at the counter, calls come in, and the shift has to hold together while the player investigates. Small atmospheric details carry the story forward, and the 1990s setting comes with a light VHS tape aesthetic that fits the analog horror tone. The station looks warm and cozy at first, and that calm makes the nighttime events feel even colder.

Players afraid of jumpscares can switch on the optional Silent Screamers mode. It removes sudden scares while keeping the atmosphere and the story intact, which makes the episode accessible for anyone who prefers slow dread over sharp shocks. The episode lasts about ninety to one hundred twenty minutes and fits into one sitting, with a demo covering the first twenty to thirty minutes.

The game belongs to the HERROR anthology, a series of short standalone horror episodes connected by tone rather than by plot. Each episode deals with an everyday job that meets a paranormal threat, and the series is aimed at mid range PCs thanks to scalable graphics options.
