Somewhere above London, New York or Tokyo, a soulmate is waiting. That premise powers Pigeon A Love Story, an open world adventure from Wristwork where you fly across to scale replicas of iconic cities and search for your pigeon shaped other half. The developers describe it as a slow game for fast times.

The maps are built at full scale. Every building, every street and every pigeon of the featured cities is present, with London, New York, Tokyo, Paris and Amsterdam all part of the journey. Flying between the rooftops of such detailed recreations turns simple travel into sightseeing, and the search unfolds across some of the most recognizable skylines on Earth. The tone stays light and whimsical throughout the trip.

The birds themselves run on a city wide simulation. Hundreds of thousands of autonomous pigeon NPCs fly, interact and live their own lives in real time. You call out to as many as you can, and most politely reject you. Some may offer an occasional clue, and one of them, somewhere, is waiting to be found. The hunt is patient by design, and every rejection brings the answer a little closer. There is no rush, no countdown and no penalty for taking the scenic route.

Friends can join the flight. Multiplayer supports up to eight players across two modes. In one, the group tries to find each other across the city, and in the other, everyone races to locate their own soulmate first. For quieter moments, a passive mode lets the game play itself in screensaver style, so you can simply watch the birds.

Developed by Wristwork and published by Wristwork Ltd, the project is a romantic oddity aimed at players who enjoy exploration, gentle humor and the strange comfort of being one pigeon among thousands, and who believe that love is worth crossing an entire city for.
