Backyard Baseball is an arcade baseball simulator that combines modern 3D graphics with the atmosphere of the classic original. Fans of the virtual sport have access to 11 redesigned stadiums and 24 teams with customizable insignia. The starting roster of athletes includes 40 unique characters, including classic backyard kids, legendary childhood professional baseball players, and secret heroes. A customizable player is also available. This approach allows you to tailor your team to your individual tactical preferences.

Gameplay Backyard Baseball offers six diverse modes, including a home run competition featuring a mechanical pitcher named Mr. Clanky. Matches are filled with spectacular elements thanks to the use of special pitches and power-ups that freeze or ignite the ball. To simplify the learning process, there's an assist mode for playing from a static stand, as well as the ability to completely disable referee errors. The competitive aspect is explored through local split-screen confrontations and online multiplayer battles. Special tokens are awarded for on-field success, allowing players to purchase collectible cards featuring characters without spending real money.
