About The Game

LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight tells the story of Bruce Wayne's transformation into the protector of Gotham City. The plot of this project draws inspiration from decades of media, including elements from comics, television series, and various films. The campaign is divided into separate chapters, each representing a significant era from the character's life and showcasing different interpretations of Batman. The narrative parodies the Christopher Nolan trilogy and recreates the car chase from the 2022 Matt Reeves film, organically combining nostalgic references with the humor inherent to the LEGO brand.

In LEGO Batman: Legacy of the Dark Knight, the gameplay unfolds in a large open world of Gotham City. This environment offers the gamer a multitude of side activities, such as investigating crime scenes, solving puzzles, completing challenges, and searching for hidden secrets. To navigate the urban landscape, the character actively uses a grappling hook for vertical ascents and a cape for gliding between tall buildings. This movement mechanic is directly inspired by the system from Batman: Arkham Knight, providing the ability to travel quickly across the entire metropolis.

This action game presents a reworked combat system that prioritizes strategic actions over mindless button mashing. Battles are based on combos, counters, and chain attacks, allowing the hero to efficiently switch between numerous opponents. This design is a notable departure from the combat of many previous LEGO games. Players use iconic bat gadgets, such as stunning batarangs and the bat claw, for full control over the course of a fight. The emphasis on timing brings a completely different dynamic to combat encounters.
