About The Game

Homgard is a melancholic adventure in the format of Japanese crossword puzzles, with a story that unfolds in the ruins of a faded techno-fantasy civilization. The narrative focuses on the ironic exploration of the remains of a bygone world through the meticulous restoration of lost data. Instead of saving the universe, the protagonist takes on the role of an archivist, cataloging 25 vast regions. Along the way, eccentric characters are encountered: from deities who have gone out for a snack to cultists absorbed in arguments about design. The discovery of hundreds of diary entries, scientific reports, and letters allows the reconstruction of a large-scale historical mosaic.

The foundation of the gameplay consists of 675 handcrafted puzzles that eliminate the need to guess randomly. The classic picross has been transformed by the introduction of 6 additional mechanics governing the behavior of colored cells. Green blocks require mandatory contact with other filled elements, while red blocks require full synchronization of status with neighboring areas of the same color. Completing levels expands the accessible territory on the global atlas, opening hidden routes. The meditative atmosphere is supported by 6 radio stations broadcasting music of various genres. This work is the first volume of a planned tetralogy, offering a logically complete narrative.
