About The Game

Ariana and the Elder Codex is an adventure platformer in which you play as Ariana, a librarian tasked with restoring seven corrupted magical tomes that have stripped the world of magic. Using the librarian's unique abilities, you literally delve into these corrupted codexes to restore them from the inside, overcoming platforming challenges and defeating enemies. The game features over 30 unlockable spells and abilities, customizable across six slots, allowing for a variety of combat approaches and puzzle-solving strategies. New abilities open up previously inaccessible areas in classic Metroidvania style, encouraging backtracking and exploration.

Each Codex is guarded by challenging bosses that require precise timing, dodging, and clever use of your growing arsenal. Restoration points serve as primary objectives completing them quickly rewards you with permanent health boosts and other bonuses. You can also craft and equip magical items that provide stat boosts and buffs, such as elemental damage, critical hit chance, and knockback resistance. Developed by Idea Factory, Compile Heart, and HYDE Inc, the game combines precision platforming with spell-based combat. The central mystery driving the adventure is to uncover the cause of the corruption of the Codices and discover the secrets hidden within the Library itself.
