In The Abbess Garden, you plant. But it's not just about poking at the ground. You are a peasant named Agnès. It's 1643, at the Port-Royal Abbey. The abbess has given you the keys to an abandoned garden. Your task is to bring it back to life. There's no planting grid. You decide where and what to sow. But the soil is complex. You need to study the soil's composition and monitor its moisture. If you plant crops too close together or incompatible ones, they will die. Seasons change, plants bloom and wither. It's important to collect seeds for your herbarium in time. As you clear the overgrowth, you discover fragments of the past: someone's belongings, scraps of notes. This triggers new storylines. Neighbors begin to give you assignments.

And then you find the diary of a dead spy. It turns out that political intrigue is raging within the quiet abbey. British courts and historical figures are implicated. You must unravel this mystery while simultaneously cultivating the gardens and restoring the sanctuary. Progress is entirely up to you. Dig in the soil and ignore the conspiracy. Solve mysteries while forgetting to water. Or combine the two. Ultimately, the withered lands will emerge as a flourishing oasis. And the story will end as you decide. This is a meditative gardening simulator with an unexpectedly dense story about spies and power. Without fuss, at your own pace.
