About The Game

Nightsoil is an atmospheric survival simulator with horror elements, where you assume the role of managing a cursed land on the very edge of civilization, surrounded by toxic fogs and ancient ruins. Your task is to cultivate soil saturated with a strange substance, harvest rare bioluminescent crops, and maintain the delicate balance of an ecosystem that responds to your every action with unpredictable mutations and aggressive growth. During the day, you methodically plan your crops, build defensive structures from scrap materials, and filter toxic sediment, preparing for the onset of absolute darkness. It's at night that twisted creatures emerge from dark corners and underground channels, drawn by the scent of fresh organic matter and the warmth of living crops, turning your farm into a battlefield for survival.

The gameplay is built on a sharp contrast between methodical, almost meditative daytime work and chaotic, adrenaline-fueled nighttime defensive battles. In the morning, you explore the surroundings of abandoned ruins in search of rare seeds, blueprints for ancient machinery, and valuable resources, combine various types of toxic fertilizers to create mutant plants with unique alchemical properties, and purify poisoned water with complex homemade filters. As darkness falls, the mechanics change dramatically: you must fortify fragile barricades, place biolamps of glowing mushrooms to repel shadows, and fight creeping monsters using improvised weapons and magical amulets. The crafting system allows you to create protective talismans from fossils, upgrade tools to more effectively cultivate contaminated land, and build automatic traps, gradually unlocking new dungeon zones filled with the secrets of previous inhabitants.
