About The Game

Players take on the role of Nikolas Rendl in Pyromaniac, an action adventure from developer Dominik Braun, published by tayoDEV and released on January 30 2026. The year is 2009. A 20 year old man wakes on a bench near a bus stop in an unfamiliar city, with no memory of how he arrived, and the cold streets around him offer no answers, only questions. A bench, a bus stop and an unexplained night are everything Nikolas has to work with, and the city offers no help. To make things worse, scorched monsters crawl out of the dark, and Nikolas must defend himself from them while he searches for the truth about his lost night. The premise turns a simple bench into the starting point of a mystery, mixing everyday loneliness with creeping danger. The mood stays grim and grounded: an unknown city, an empty memory and creatures that burn in the night are all the welcome he gets. Answers, if they exist, are scattered somewhere in those streets.

The gameplay mixes exploration with tense combat. You wander the cold streets of the unfamiliar city, pick up whatever helps you survive and face scorched monsters that give every fight a burning, desperate edge. Battles ask for care and timing rather than reckless aggression, and the empty city keeps pressing you forward with questions: why 2009, why this place, and what happened to Nikolas Rendl. Standing your ground takes nerve, because the monsters keep coming and the dark keeps hiding the next one. The lost memory works as both mystery and motor, since every answer found makes the world slightly less hostile and the night slightly shorter. The Indie scale of the project suits the intimate tone, and the contrast between quiet streets and violent encounters stays sharp from start to finish. The title hints at fire, and the streets deliver it. Defending yourself from the monsters is only half of the game. The other half is remembering, and the two halves keep feeding each other until the final answer.
