A Totally Legal Archaeology Adventure is an indie RPG with simulation elements in which you play as a newly hired museum manager tasked with building a world class collection. The core gameplay involves traveling to remote islands to excavate ancient artifacts, then returning them to curate and expand your museum. As you unearth relics, you'll unlock various activities, such as fishing and mining, on each new island you visit.

The game features a progression system with upgraded tools and abilities that increase your efficiency, as well as a museum management aspect where you strategically display artifacts to attract visitors and generate income. One unusual feature allows you to accumulate wealth in the form of a literal pile of cash hidden in your basement. Beyond the superficial search for artifacts and museum construction, the game features a mysterious storyline that grows increasingly dark as you learn more about the institution you work for. Developed by Exponential Production as their debut release, the game combines tycoon style management with exploration and resource gathering. The lighthearted premise of completely legal archaeology hints at dark secrets waiting to be discovered beneath the gameplay.
