About The Game

Shin Megami Tensei 3 Nocturne HD Remaster is a Japanese role-playing game. It differs from other games in the genre with its distinctly dark atmosphere, as well as philosophical, psychological, and occult themes. Understanding the plot and lore doesn't require familiarity with the previous games, as this one presents a standalone story. The title uses a third-person perspective. During exploration, the camera is positioned behind the protagonist.

One day, a high school student goes to a Shinjuku hospital to visit his teacher, Yuko Takao. There, he discovers that his teacher is connected to a ritual of world rebirth (called Conception) and witnesses the end of the world. The dying hero is implanted with a parasite, transforming into a human-demon. In his new form, he begins wandering post-apocalyptic Tokyo, becoming embroiled in a conflict between divine and demonic beings, and attempting to find a new path in life. The nonlinear narrative has six endings.

You'll explore dungeons, interact with NPCs, solve puzzles, visit merchants, fight monsters and bosses, and level up. Navigating between locations on the world map and exploring points of interest occurs in real time. When a random or scripted encounter occurs, combat mode is activated. Battles are turn-based. The duel involves both the main character and the demons they've recruited into their squad. The battles are built around exploiting the enemies' vulnerabilities. Some fighters can be recruited by persuading them, while others will only become available after crossbreeding with other creatures. These new warriors will also gain certain skills from their donors.
