About The Game

Generation Exile is a turn based city builder from Sonderlust Studios that takes place aboard a colossal generation ship sailing through space with the last of humanity on board. Thousands of passengers live and sleep between the decks, and every drop of water, every meal and every breath of air has to be produced by machinery that you design and maintain. As the caretaker of the expedition you plan districts on a grid, link production chains and watch a fragile economy react to each new decision. The story asks what a century long voyage does to people, because generations are born and die inside the hull while the destination stays far away. Families grow, stories fade and the original purpose of the expedition slowly turns into legend for those who never saw earth. The game released on April 17 2026 and stands apart from other builders through its calm, deliberate pacing and the constant weight of responsibility.

The gameplay unfolds in turns that give you space to think before committing to a move. You place modules, route goods between districts and fix bottlenecks before they turn into hunger or unrest. Reading the flows correctly is the core skill of the game. Resources stay limited on purpose, so expanding one production line always costs another its share, and advanced technologies open ways to recycle waste or wake more sleepers. Social choices matter as much as engineering ones: laws, education and rituals shape who your people become during the long haul, and the ending reacts to the kind of society you built rather than to raw efficiency alone. That focus turns every ordinance into a small statement about the world your descendants will inherit. Special events interrupt the routine with malfunctions, discoveries and moral dilemmas that have no clean answer. In a genre crowded with medieval villages and tropical islands this steel world feels refreshingly different, and each session leaves you thinking about the price of survival.
