Bad Cheese is a psychological horror game from Simon Lukasik that hides its dread behind the eerie charm of 1920s animation. You view the world from the tiny paws of a mouse who is spending the weekend at home with a dysfunctional dad while mom is away, and that sentence alone should explain why the curtains feel wrong. The house is drawn in wobbly vintage style, but the situations inside it are anything but cute: dad has rules, dad has moods, and keeping daddy happy is the only strategy the little hero has. The game trades loud monsters for a slow, constant unease, the feeling of tiptoeing through rooms where something is always slightly off. It is a strange, memorable mix of nostalgia and menace, the kind of premise that sticks with you long after the credits.

The gameplay builds tension out of domestic chores and broken rules. As the mouse you sneak around the house, handle small objects and try to satisfy the strange demands of the day, because the game is watching how you behave and reacting to it. Dad moves through the home on his own schedule, and meeting him at the wrong moment or in the wrong mood is where the horror lives: the music bends, the animation stutters and the punishment for a mistake can arrive without warning. Puzzles are physical and small in scale, built around the size difference between a mouse and a human house, so reaching a shelf or crossing a kitchen becomes its own little expedition. The dread accumulates rather than explodes, which makes the rare moments of genuine terror land hard. Between the vintage visuals, the tense household routine and the sick feeling that something is deeply wrong in this family, the game maintains its grip from the first minute to the last.
