About The Game

Inkshade is a turn-based tactics game built on wooden miniatures and controlled by an otherworldly entity within a network of locked rooms. An entity at the table orchestrates the events on the board, forcing the player to participate. Each playing piece is animated by black ink, a substance that represents their essence on a hexagonal grid. Players must interact with this tabletop construct repeatedly, where the constant is the fluid flowing from the miniatures, and victory is not guaranteed.

The core mechanic involves upgrading and expanding your collection of different units between tactical encounters. New classes of units are unlocked by solving puzzles and exploring dark spaces beyond the tabletop. Players expand their roster during a run by converting defeated opponents into new team members. The consent of these new recruits is not taken into account, as they are forced to shed blood and serve their captain's cause on the battlefield.
