About The Game

Wildwood Down is a point & click investigation game that follows Daniel, a high school student with Down syndrome, who is drawn into a mysterious murder on the boardwalk in Wildwood, New Jersey. After a friend is killed, the protagonist is forced to take up the case. His sister's life is also in danger, forcing the protagonist to gather information from the locals before time runs out and he loses his family.

The gameplay in Wildwood Down guides the player through puzzles and interactions with characters to progress the story. In order to uncover the identity of the Boardwalk Butcher, Daniel completes a variety of tasks around the coastal town. These include making donuts, competing in an underground wrestling tournament, and being thrown out of bars by security. Each completed task brings the protagonist closer to uncovering the identity of the culprit and saving his sister from impending danger so the rest of the high school can have fun.

This quest takes 8 to 10 hours to complete, and the main character is voiced by an actor with Down syndrome. The player moves around the world as Daniel, interacting with fully voiced characters to restore the sequence of events. Progression through the story is tied to solving puzzles with straightforward logic, without abstract concepts. The main goal in this game is to uncover a conspiracy related to the Butcher from the Waterfront, and ensure the safety of Daniel's sister.
