About The Game

Kaizen A Factory Story is an open-ended automation puzzle game set in 1980s Japan. Players are tasked with designing production lines from scratch, placing and connecting equipment to perform specific industrial tasks. The main goal is to build and maintain factories that produce a variety of consumer goods of the era. Items include pocket calculators, portable video cameras, and commercial arcade machines. The game offers multiple-solution challenges, giving freedom in the engineering of assembly systems.

The engineer’s tasks on the road to perfection:

• Design and build an initial assembly line.
• Set up production of iconic 80s-era products.
• Analyze the production cycle to identify bottlenecks.
• Continuously improve the system for maximum efficiency.

Once the initial design is ready to go, the focus shifts to optimization, the centerpiece of the entire process. In Kaizen, you analyze your own automated creations to identify weaknesses, reduce waste, and improve throughput. This process of refinement is continuous, as solutions can be improved to achieve greater efficiency.
