Wizdom Academy puts the player in the role of a principal tasked with building and managing a school for wizards. Players design the layout of their magical academy and oversee its physical construction in stages. Controlling resources and expanding the institution’s influence form the principal’s primary operational responsibilities.

Managing Wizdom Academy involves more than just constructing buildings; it requires interacting with the school’s inhabitants and key resources. Students and teachers must be recruited, each with their own personal histories and traits that affect the relationships within the institution. The primary energy source, mana, powers the academy, but its supply is increasingly unstable, requiring thoughtful strategies for collecting, storing, and deploying it. In this game, periods of mana shortages must be overcome through specific management moves to maintain operations.

The development of the students is directly related to their experiences within the academy, affecting their skills and personality over time. The Principal determines how people contribute to the institution, potentially educating future generations or performing necessary maintenance tasks for the benefit of the institution. Additionally, the expectations of the school board must be met while investigating the hidden mysteries surrounding it. Gameplay involves making important decisions to overcome challenges, which is a regular part of the Principal’s duties as new content is unlocked.
