About The Game

Romancing SaGa 2 Revenge of the Seven is a modern remake of the 1993 Japanese non-linear RPG with English and Japanese voice acting. Players become the rulers of the Varennes Empire, tasked with defending against the Seven Heroes, who have returned as vengeful villains after humanity was forgotten. The game features a unique imperial succession system in which knowledge and abilities are passed down from one ruler to the next, allowing players to choose from over 30 different character classes.

Combat features an improved timeline-based battle system with classic Glimmers and Formations mechanics, as well as a new United Attack feature for combination moves. The remake transforms the original 2D pixel sprites into 3D models while retaining their charm, and includes three difficulty modes to accommodate different play styles. Composer Kenji Ito returns to the game with new arrangements that can be switched between the original and new versions.

    The following Abilities have had their potency or effects increased.
    Swift Combatant
    Max HP+
    Max BP+

    Waste Not, Want Not
    Chemist
    Provoker (Increased aggro rate.)
    Vigorous Attacker
    Auto-HP Recovery

    The following Abilities have had their potency or effects decreased.
    Penny Pincher
    United Ravager

    Some equipment and technique/spells have been adjusted.
    The stats of some full-body armor, equipment, shields, and other gear have been increased.
    The potency or effects of Gilden Shield, Fujin Blade, Claw Barrage, and Heat Hand have been increased.
    Passive regeneration from ley line effects have been increased for retinue members.
    More options added for New Game+ customization. (You can opt out of carrying over the following into a NG+ file: Max HP, Max BP, Weapon Levels, Spell Levels, Overall Standing, and unlocked Abilities.)
    Original soundtrack version for the Dread Queen battle BGM has been added.
    The current imperial year can now be viewed from the menu screen.
    A Formations icon has been added to the battle screen.

    The following issues have been fixed.
    An issue where the game would become stuck on the ending credits on the first clear of a playthrough.

    An issue where the game would become stuck upon selecting an unregistered technique in the Training Hall.

    Other minor bug fixes.
