About The Game

Divine Frequency is a tense and atmospheric game on the DOOM engine, it has many elements of survival horror and action RPG in the style of Dark Souls, which make the gameplay much deeper. These include NPCs to talk to, side quests, XP, leveling up, weapon upgrades, and other cool features. In fact, the game has more in common with the games it’s inspired by Bloodborne, Blood, System Shock 2 and Darkest Dungeon than id Software’s classic FPS you’ll have to think tactically and use the environment to your advantage instead of just shooting everything, which is moving. The previous version of Divine Frequency contained the early stages of the game, while the current version contains a large stretch from the middle of the game. While the previous version was fairly linear, this one features a large, sprawling, interconnected area filled with secrets to discover and optional side areas.

Like the Dark Souls series, Divine Frequency encourages exploration and experimentation. In fact, most of the level and most of the bosses are optional, you won’t even have to fight the main boss if you find another way to get to the elevator at the exit. The optional areas and bosses are pretty tough, but if you can endure the pain, you’ll reap your rewards. In addition, the game has a lot of historical facts and even has a funny sense of humor, such as a side quest in which you bring a chicken for a hungry demon. It’s a great game and possibly the best survival horror FPS using GZDoom since Total Chaos. The monsters are terrifying, the weapons feel great, and the level design is simply fantastic. Highly recommended.
