Forever Ago is a melancholic adventure following an elderly man and his loyal four legged companion. The protagonist, Alfred, acknowledges that travel isn't always about romance or glamour; sometimes, the journey offers healing for the soul rather than just thrilling experiences. After suffering a personal tragedy, he heads north in an aging trailer, accompanied by his pet and a camera.

His dog helps him cope with deep emotional pain and keep his spirits up, while his hobby allows him to capture memories of beautiful landscapes, sunsets, and campfires. He also takes portraits of the people he meets along the way, gradually gaining devoted admirers willing to listen to his story and offer a helping hand.

The game is incredibly touching, lovingly crafted from a patchwork of regrets, shattered hopes, bright aspirations, and genuine friendship. Its pleasant 3D graphics immerse the player in a contemplative, unhurried atmosphere where the protagonist observes nature, everyday life, and new acquaintances, discovering surprising new truths about life in his twilight years. Using the camera, players can solve simple problems for the locals, earning their gratitude and goodwill in return. His dog is almost always by his side; Alfred can pet him to lift the weight of sorrow and shake off feelings of loneliness.
