About The Game

In this game, you are not the hero but the one who tells the tale. Talespinner is a deck building roguelike adventure from Flash Cat Games, published by Kwalee, woven from Japanese mythology and shaped by your decisions. The ink is yours to command, and so is the danger.

Every story needs a protagonist, and here you choose one of three characters, each with distinct gameplay mechanics and a powerful set of cards. As the storyteller, you guide your chosen hero through an ever changing narrative, where deck construction and choices steer the plot together. Upgrading cards as you play and forging strong synergies between them is how you dominate the tale. Switching heroes between runs changes the rhythm of the whole campaign.

The scenarios give the narrative its spice. Your hero might be pursued by a ninja clan led by the famous Hanzo Hattori, or venture into the mountains to track down the Ice Lady, Yuki Onna, who haunts the local population. Every path offers additional story twists, and the layers of challenge and replayability keep growing as new combinations of events unfold. No two tellings of the same adventure sound alike.

The storybook is your instrument. You use it to dictate the encounters your hero faces, modifying challenges and adjusting the flow of the adventure. That control over pacing turns each run into a deliberate composition rather than a random shuffle, and the turn based battles give every card play room to matter. Harder chapters demand better decks, and the book remembers nothing, which keeps each session honest.

Flash Cat Games delivers a title for players who enjoy roguelike strategy with a narrative soul, where mythology, cardcraft and authorship share the same page, and where the pen truly does decide the fate of the sword. Storytelling was never this tactical.
