About The Game

Mixtape is an indie adventure from BAFTA-winning studio Beethoven and Dinosaur, creators of The Artful Escape, centering on three friends spending their last night together before going their separate ways. The game's story unfolds through dreamlike renditions of key teenage memories, evoked by a carefully curated playlist during a trip to one last party. Players are immersed in a variety of gameplay sequences, including skateboarding, photo ops at abandoned amusement parks, baseball, fireworks, and other moments that capture the essence of adolescence from first kisses to last dances. The story explores identity-forming experiences and the bittersweet nature of growing up, moving on, and letting go of friends.

Drawing inspiration from classic coming of age films, the game combines nostalgia, teenage rebellion, and music at its core. The soundtrack features iconic tracks from DEVO, Roxy Music, Lush, The Smashing Pumpkins, Iggy Pop, Siouxsie and the Banshees, Joy Division, The Cure, and other artists who defined a generation. The gameplay centers on hanging out, sneaking out, kissing, throwing parties, and avoiding trouble with the law. Mixtape explores the highs and lows of adolescence through a variety of interactive moments rather than traditional game mechanics. It's a nostalgic journey celebrating friendship, transformation, and those fleeting teenage years that shape us as individuals.
