About The Game

Kriophobia is a psychological survival horror game where the protagonist's primary threat is not only the local fauna but also the deadly cold. Success depends directly on skillful management of body temperature and the frugal use of limited resources. Direct encounters with grotesque creatures often lead to death, forcing the player to seek alternate routes and act stealthily. The story's unusual presentation is achieved through the use of static camera angles, creating a cinematic effect and heightening the sense of anxiety. The protagonist, a geophysicist named Anna, must explore an abandoned complex to find a way to the surface.

The action unfolds on Zhokhov Island, where a scientific expedition finds itself trapped in an abandoned Soviet military base buried beneath the permafrost. As she progresses deeper into the complex, Anna encounters not only physical threats but also her own past, which manifests through surreal visions. Kriophobia's visuals are executed in a unique style, combining hand-drawn graphics with textures reminiscent of painting.
