About The Game

Rise of Piracy, a blend of real-time strategy and action-adventure elements, immerses you in the brutal world of naval warfare from the 1600s to the 1900s. Here, piloting a tiny vessel gradually evolves into command of a formidable armada, capable of razing entire outposts thanks to a fully destructible environment. Artillery fire on buildings not only destroys cover but also instills terror in opponents, often forcing them to surrender without a fight.

A deep diplomatic model forces players to consider AI-controlled factions, which can both declare war and form ad hoc alliances. The economic component relies on trading 200 types of goods of varying value, allowing players to accumulate resources to upgrade their fleet of 30 available ships. Rise of Piracy requires players to master not only navigational skills but also the skillful management of human resources for land operations. Recruiting crews in port taverns determines the effectiveness of raids, so to successfully capture procedurally generated islands, the captain must:

• form balanced boarding parties from the five available classes of specialized infantry;
• use officers with pistols to precisely eliminate defenders;
• deploy heavy ground guns when assaulting well-fortified enemy strongholds;
• strategically select targets from difficulty levels 1 to 7, depending on the current combat strength of the squadron.
