About The Game

Knights of the Crusades takes the player back to the First Crusades, where you start your journey as a lone knight. You have to work your way up to founding and managing a holy order, choosing the Templars or creating your own faction. The process combines elements of real-time strategy with settlement construction and management within a sandbox. You have to solve problems related to war, religious influence, diplomacy and strategic planning.

The gameplay in Knights of the Crusades involves traveling from Western Europe to the Holy Land to participate in the starting crusades. You will take responsibility for creating the chosen holy order and will lead its expansion. This will require capturing lands called villages and developing them through the construction of many necessary buildings. A complex economic system with survival elements functions both on the tactical map and on the global one, requiring close attention.

The extraction of resources, especially silver and piety points, directly affects the expansion of the zone of control and the supply of the army. Conflict simulation is a key aspect of the gameplay, pitting you against computer-controlled forces in land and naval battles using real-time tactics. Defending established settlements and offensive maneuvers such as large-scale city sieges form the core of the military component. After completing story-driven scenarios that recreate historical events such as the Reconquista or the defense of Edessa, the game switches to free exploration mode.
